The official app of the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad, known as TrainTime, has been integrated into the MTA eTix app. This merging of platforms allows users to conveniently plan their railroad trips and purchase tickets all within a single app, eliminating the need to switch between different applications.
Whether you are a newcomer to the system or a regular commuter, this app aims to enhance your travel experience in the following ways:
- In-App Tickets: Responding to one of our most frequent requests, users can now securely purchase and use tickets for the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad (East of Hudson only) within the same app used for trip planning.
- Trip Planning: Access schedules, track assignments, and information on train occupancy levels to ensure a smooth journey.
- Realtime Train Tracking: Keep track of the exact location and estimated arrival time of each train in your itinerary, allowing you to monitor your progress throughout the trip.
- Realtime Seat Availability: Get an overview of each train's car occupancy levels to increase your chances of finding available seating.
- Alerts: Receive service updates and notifications directly from the official source, conveniently tailored to your specific trip.
- Chat: Engage in text-based communication with customer service representatives without needing to exit the app.
- Station Information: Access information on upcoming departures, elevator and escalator status, as well as ticket office hours for specific stations.
